Recognising Cancer Nurses Day
Recognising Cancer Nurses Day
Each year on 14 August, Cancer Nurses Day shines a light on the extraordinary dedication of more than 7,500 oncology nurses across Australia.
At Head and Neck Cancer Australia (HANCA), we are proud to honour the oncology nurses who support people diagnosed with Head and Neck Cancer every step of the way. As anyone in our community will know, the impact of nursing extends far beyond clinical care. From guiding someone through the shock of a new diagnosis to helping manage complex side effects, oncology nurses bring expertise, empathy, and hope when it is needed most.
We extend our deepest appreciation to the members of HANCA’s Clinical Advisory Group, whose expert guidance ensures our resources and education programs reflect best practice. Most recently, their leadership was instrumental in launching the HANCA Helpline, which now provides personalised information and support for people living with Head and Neck Cancer.
We thank Tracey Nicholls, Paula McLeod, Donna Standring, Colette Cole, Kylie Whitelaw, Caroline Whiteford and Kyra Spry for their dedication, collaboration and advocacy.
